
Dr. Meeker
has an extensive background in executive recruiting, education
leadership, and corporate management and throughout he has provided executive coaching to professional colleagues, business clients, and industry leaders. His business experience
includes responsibilities in educational technology and telecommunications
corporations and entrepreneurial private and public companies
throughout the United States. His firm has recently conducted several searches for sales
and marketing executives, assessment management, and corporate
executives. Clients have represented industry segments in
publishing, commerce, content, telecommunications, and Internet
delivery of educational and corporate training.
Early
in his career, Dr. Meeker worked in senior administrative
positions at the University of North Carolina and the University
of Michigan. In Chapel Hill, he integrated academic and residential
experiences and recruited a national staff of professionals.
At the University of Michigan, he worked as Coordinator of
Academic Affairs.
In 1980,
Dr. Meeker began his business career, working for high technology,
electronic publishing and Internet communications companies.
His responsibilities included field sales, national marketing
management, product line management, and new business development.
In addition to large corporate structures, he has served as
a senior leader in a privately held company which conducted
a successful initial public offering.
He earned
a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina
in education and counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy from
the University of Michigan's top ranked Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education. His published
research focused on career motivation and innovation theory
based on an evaluation of Big Ten Faculty Development Centers.
Active
in local school and youth activities, as well as business
associations, Dr. Meeker was elected to the International
Communication Industry Association board of governors. He
served on the national Software Publishers Association education
and Internet commerce section boards. He was recently elected
to the COSN Board and was the facilitator for the Association of
Educational Publishers annual Career Development Workshop. He is also active in University of
North Carolina and University of Michigan associations.
